Xiangzhou District, Zhuhai

A series of activities, ranging from performances to exhibitions, symposiums and forums, were staged in Xiangzhou District on June 6 to celebrate China Cultural & Natural Heritage Day, which falls on the second Saturday of every June.

Cantonese Opera, Cantonese Operatic Songs, and Qianshan Phoenix-Rooster Dance were showcased at Xiangzhou Cultural Hall. Certificates were presented to Liang Liumei and Ding Jian as new representative inheritors of district intangible cultural heritages.

At Ningxi Cultural Square, a photo exhibition was launched to help the public acquire a better understanding of Xiangzhou's intangible cultural heritages, as well as their inheritance and protection.

To date, the district is home to one state-level, three provincial, two municipal, and one district intangible cultural heritages. They include One-Thumb Massage, Shatian Folk Songs, Sun's Stepping Lumbus & Meridian Energy Massage, and Lin Jiu Singlestick.

Currently, there are one representative inheritor of state-level intangible cultural heritage, two of provincial intangible cultural heritages, three of municipal intangible cultural heritages, and three of district intangible cultural heritages in Xiangzhou.
