A couple hundred animals and cartoon characters shaped out of straw are on display at the Straw Culture Exhibition of Zhuhai Agricultural Paradise in Qianshan through Jan 3.

The Animation Zone is peopled with straw-plaited characters from Peppa Pig, Angry Birds, Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs, Journey to the West, Pleasant Goat & Big Bad Wolf, and Boonie Bears.

Meanwhile, installations at the Farming Culture Zone recreates scenes of workers transplanting rice seedlings, hoeing, pushing carts, threshing, pounding rice, spinning and weaving, as well as of oxen plowing paddy fields and grinding grain. Straw-made farming tools and agricultural products join those of houses, tractors, and cowboys. 

Not only are there elephants, pandas, and cows of straw in the animal zone, there also are desert plants, gourds, and fruits at the Botanical Exhibition Hall, and peacocks, rabbits, and pigeons in the Small Zoo.
