Czech Philharmonic Orchestra
For over a century, the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra has stood at the pinnacle of the western classic music world. Its turbulent passion, Bohemian style, exquisite national sentiment, and romantic feelings make it unsurpassed.
The orchestra has garnered 10 Grand Prix du Disque de l'Académie Charles Cros, five Grand Prix du Disque de l'Académie Française, and several Cannes Classical Awards. It was selected as one of the world’s top 20 orchestras by Gramophone in 2008 and top 10 by Cable News Network (CNN) in 2015.
The cast will feature Petr Altrichter as conductor, Josef Špaček, the youngest concertmaster in the orchestra, and Bedřich Smetana, the father of Czech music.
