Landscaped Zhuhai Ave elevates cityscape

Updated: 2019-04-28 (xiangzhouonline) Print

Landscaping on the 29-km (18-mile) median strip of Zhuhai Avenue from Zhuhai Bridge to Zhuhai (Jinwan) Airport has recently been completed.

The key traffic link between the west and east wings of Zhuhai were previously planted with camphor trees, kapok trees, and banyan trees. Typhoons over the past two years broke tree limbs, lowered the soil, tore up plants, and toppled trees, posing potential threats to vehicles.

To further improve the cityscape and eliminate safety concerns, Xiangzhou Zhengfang Urban Construction Co Ltd was tasked with trimming the trees, leveling the soil, assorting plant arrangements, and replacing damaged sprinkler systems.

Trees with sparse leaves along the avenue have been transplanted to Xiangshan Lake Park, Yeli Island Park, and nurseries for better conservation and management. Spidery cleomes, lavender, sunflowers, daisy-like coreopsis, rapeseed, and Chinese pennisetum have been planted to bloom year-round.
