Zhuhai has increased the maximum subsidies for entrepreneurs on the interest of petty loans to 5 million yuan ($738,378), according to a notice recently released by the Zhuhai Human Resources and Social Security Bureau.

Entrepreneurs that obtain their business license in Zhuhai and acquire petty loans from local banks are eligible for the subsidy. Those signing contracts related to planting and animal husbandry with the city and work in Zhuhai also qualify.

Laid-off workers, the disabled, ex-servicemen, returned migrant workers, college and university graduates, impoverished people, and online merchants may apply for the subsidy no more than three times, while others are able to apply for it one time.

The maximum subsidy for individual entrepreneurs has been increased from 200,000 yuan to 300,000 yuan, and that for partner entrepreneurs are 300,000 yuan for each person. The amount of the subsidy for startups that pay social security funds for their employees for more than three months can increase 150,000 yuan per person, if it doesn't exceed 3 million yuan. Labor-intensive and sci-tech small and micro enterprises that recruit new employees for more than one year whose number reach 25 percent of its total employee numbers (15 percent for enterprises with more than 100 employees) can enjoy a maximum subsidy of 5 million yuan. 

In addition, the application time for the subsidy has been extended, and less application materials are required.
