Xiangzhou District, Zhuhai

The growth of small and medium-sized enterprises in the 5G era was discussed by telecommunication industry elites at a forum in Zhuhai on March 30.

Lyu Tingjie, vice chairman of China Association for the Promotion of Industrial Development and professor at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, delivered a keynote speech on the opportunities and challenges coming with 5G.

Lyu shared his insight on hot topics like the wireless digital economy, 5G application outlook, and the transformation from information networks to value networks.

He also stressed that 5G networks have become the backbone driving force to the national economy due to their high speed, wide bandwidths, and no time delays. Internet operators should seize the opportunities, using blockchain, artificial intelligence, and other state of the art technologies to further boost economic growth.

In recent years, great strides have been made in Xinagzhou district due to the fresh momentum gained from the Belt and Road Initiative, the opening of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, and free trade zone construction. Based on its favorable location, Xiangzhou will have a big opportunity to develop strategic emerging industries and achieve high-quality economic growth.
