Innovation expo shows pride in education technology

The Fourth China Education Innovation Expo was held from Nov 12 to 15 in Zhuhai, celebrating the latest examples of progress and innovative in education from around the world through forums, workshops, speeches, and displays.
Some 1,500 educational innovations were spotlighted. Their developers described the latest education trends creatively using advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and virtual reality to cultivate students' interest and advance their learning.
Five theme halls held the exhibits. Showcased were public education projects from Belt & Road countries and elsewhere, practical achievements in domestic primary and middle schools, educational changes over the past four decades, and research results from the country's elite universities. Space was reserved for feats by individuals, enterprises, and organizations, but the intelligent and Internet technologies applied in education that shared the fifth hall attracted equal attention.
George Fitzgerald Smoot, Nobel laureate in physics, spoke at the expo.
Wang Shoujun, head of the organizing committee, said the expo, initiated by Beijing Normal University in 2015, has become a key platform where China's education sector can brainstorm new ideas and spread good educational approaches to schools across the country.
