Xiangzhou District, Zhuhai

Zhuhai-based Gree Electric Appliances, the world's largest air conditioner manufacturer, was given the China Quality Award on Nov 2 in Beijing. The award is the highest honor in China's quality field.

Gree was among nine recipients and one of only three manufacturers to receive the award in 2018.

Gree's management practices, based on years of experience, were considered very effective and efficient. Other companies were encouraged to learn from the company's successes.

The China Quality Award winners are selected every two years to recognize organizations that have made significant innovations in quality management models, methods and systems. Candidates come from various fields including services, manufacturing, engineering, national defense and equipment, education, and medical care.

State-owned Gree is a highly competitive conglomerate headquartered in Qianshan of Xiangzhou. Its motto is "made in China, loved by the world." The company was nominated for the award in 2016.                                             

The third China Quality Award honors nine enterprises plus an individual. The awards ceremony is held in Beijing on Nov 2.
