Xiangzhou District, Zhuhai

A Zhuhai delegation of 186 enterprises are attending the ongoing China Import-Export Fair (also known as the Canton Fair) in Guangzhou, seeking further expansions in overseas market.

The three-phase fair, already having been held 123 times previously, is perceived as a barometer of China's foreign trade. The ongoing Phase I began on Oct 15 and will last for five days.

More than 25,000 companies from home and abroad will exhibit their products on 60,645 booths at the fair.

China Electronic Zhuhai receives a large number of potential foreign buyers at the Canton Fair in Guangzhou.

Companies from Xiangzhou District have attracted tremendous attention with their cutting-edge technologies. Gree Electric Appliances of Zhuhai, the world's largest air conditioner suppliers, and Print-Rite Holdings Ltd, one of the world's largest manufacturers of general printing supplies are part of the lineup.

Mechanical and electrical products are under the spotlight, with new high-tech products given equal exposure, all reflecting Zhuhai's innovative capability, according to a city official.

The import and export of Zhuhai has maintained a trend of steady growth since the beginning of this year. The volume from January to August was accumulated to 222 billion yuan ($34.7 billion) with an increase of 26.5 percent, the highest growth rate in the Guangdong Province.
