Xiangzhou District, Zhuhai

Qianshan Sub-district of Xiangzhou opened an arts center on Oct 11 to accommodate cultural, artistic, and leisure activities for its communities. It opens from 9 to 12 am and 2 to 5 pm every day.

The six-floor center includes an underground floor and five above ground covering 1,870 sq m, and is located on #188 Xianyi Road.

It was built to stimulate as well as expand interests in music, dance, fine arts, and reading by organizing regular training. Residents will be offered a platform to showcase their skills in the abovementioned aspects. There will also be various exhibitions using advanced technologies.

An exhibition hall in the fourth floor spotlights local intangible cultural legacies which are presented using combined means of texts, pictures, physical object display and videos.

The center will also cooperate with social organizations, introducing their services to nearby residents.

The project has already used 20 million yuan ($3.1 million) in building the venue and entailed an additional 10 million yuan on facility purchase, according to a local official.
