The projects include the upgrading of Weiji village, the renovation of exit corridor, the construction of a pedestrian bridge on Changsheng Road and the upgrading of an underground passage in Gongbei Port.

A total of 27.69 million yuan ($3.94 million) has been invested in carrying out the renovation project of Weiji village. The village's illegal structures have by now been demolished. With the renovation of the old residential area, Weiji village will turn into a new and a beautiful block connected to Bihua village.

A weatherproof corridor with entrance and security inspection facilities will be constructed in the port's exit corridor. The existing security inspection equipment will be moved back. It will install a ceiling on the top, seal it with walls on both sides, and add air curtains and air conditioners to form a relatively closed area.

A pedestrian bridge will be built on Zhuhai Station section of the urban railway on Chengsheng Road in the district, which upon completion will effectively relieve the traffic burden in the port square.

The underground passage of Gongbei Port has been built and used for more than 20 years. Many problems regarding ventilation, pipelines, environment and road surface have caused great inconvenience.

The renovation and upgrading project will re-engineer the ventilation system, environment and road conditions to solve the original phenomenon of being "dirty and messy" and make appropriate traffic adjustments for the underground passage.

It will be constructed according to the same standards as used in the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. The walls will be made of enamel plates, which are clean and tidy, creating a clean and bright underground passage.

At present, the project is in the establishment stage, and the feasibility study report has been submitted for approval.
