Xiangzhou District, Zhuhai

Nine newly-developed public schools in Xiangzhou District, Zhuhai capable of providing 9,500 seats in total for students have been put into use and they promise high quality education that will be realized through multiple approaches.

Two secondary schools, three primary schools and four kindergartens have opened accommodating more than 2,300 students in new classrooms.

This is the first year for Gree School, the youngest school in Xiangzhou, to recruit students. Developed by Gree Electric Appliances, the world’s largest air conditioner supplier, the 18,628-sq-m school is located south of Jinji Road with floorage of 26,000 sq m. There are 36 classrooms capable of accommodating 1,800 students.

According to a school leader, the local government has invested 9 million yuan ($1.4 million) on teaching facilities, aiming to build an intelligent education example. For instance, each classroom is equipped with a multimedia touch screen that allows direct ten-finger manipulation on the display.

Other schools include the Aviation New Town, Meihua, and Tongle Kindergarten, Beishan Primary School, and Hengqin First Middle School.

The Xiangzhou government attaches great importance to education in its development, looking to cultivate more innovative talents.
