Xiangzhou District, Zhuhai

Thirty-six leaders in intelligent manufacturing recently visited Xiangzhou, Zhuhai with a view to developing their businesses.

Representatives from the Qianshan Commercial Trade Logistics Center, Sima Transmission Machinery, Zhuhai Bojay Electronics, Mektec Manufacturing and other local competitive companies attended a symposium where they shared how they benefited from the favorable local business environment.

The visiting delegation was briefed on Xiangzhou's investment advantages, industrial layout, preferential policy treatment, and support services.

On July 17, Xiangzhou District chief Liu Qiying promotes the district as an investment hotspot for intelligent manufacturers.

Zhuhai now faces an opportunity based on the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, especially as Shenzhen's high-end manufacturing project outflows are accelerating. In the first half of 2017, 1,332 companies moved out of Shenzhen, most of them in the fields of electronic communication equipment and intelligent manufacturing.

Xiangzhou has been positioning itself as a good place to make intelligent manufacturing advances. Industrial clusters, having been incentivized, are eager to make use of massive quality industry resources and have left Shenzhen to make a greater impact, according to the Xiangzhou's Science, Technology, Industry, Trade & Information Technology Bureau.

With the opening of the Guangzhou-Zhuhai Intercity MRT, Zhuhai has been integrated into the "1-hour economic circle" of the Pearl River Delta with smooth connections between Guangzhou, Foshan, Jiangmen, Zhongshan and other cities. In addition, Xiangzhou will be the only urban area connected to Hong Kong and Macao by land once the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, the world's largest sea bridge, is completed.

Participants were convinced that its strategic location means Xiangzhou has bright developmental prospects. An influx of high-end projects, professional talents and investment can be envisioned, according to a local official.
