The Zhuhai Association of Innovation-driven Enterprises, recently established with a membership of 35 famous local enterprises, held its first general meeting on June 16 to pass articles and select core members.

Gree Electric Appliances, Actions (Zhuhai) Technology, China Aviation Industry General Aircraft, Meizu Technology and another six industry leaders were the force behind the establishment of the association. The goal is to better serve the city's 1,478 High & New-Technology Enterprises (HNTEs) so as to give an impetus to local innovative economy.

The association will hold its opening ceremony during the 4th China-Israel Investment Summit on July 2 and 3 and organize a forum focusing on sci-tech cooperation between the two countries. Areas of particular interest will be modern agriculture, healthcare, general aircraft, and electronic information.

According to a spokesperson, the association is committed to attracting more high-quality innovation resources and high-end businesses with the aim of improving the city's international competitiveness.

Articles of the association are passed at the first general assembly with chairman, deputy chairman and other core members being selected.
