Progress on key Zhuhai projects is announced

Zhuhai's economy will be bolstered by 411 projects, some new and some continuing, as outlined in the city's 2018 construction plan. The projects are valued at 641.8 billion yuan ($100 billion) in total.
Fifty-six of the listed projects will greatly benefit from increased investment, which is expected to reach 21.4 billion yuan ($3.3 billion) this year.
The city has invested 30.8 billion yuan ($4.8 billion) in the first four months of the year, accounting for 39.5 percent of the total estimated, according to the Zhuhai Development & Reform Bureau.
Much of the investment went toward industrial engineering projects, which costed some 13 billion yuan ($2 billion), while infrastructure and livelihood projects attracted 15 billion yuan ($2.3 billion) and 2.5 billion yuan ($391 million), respectively.
Below are some example projects being developed in Zhuhai.

Work is being accelerated to open the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge later this year.

Banzhang Mt Tunnel upgrades are well underway, with two additional tunnels being built for motorized traffic and a smaller two-way slow-traffic passage being built to better link New Xiangzhou and Gongbei.

Construction of Jinhai Avenue Bridge will continue as a major traffic artery linking east and west parts of Zhuhai, bringing Hengqin New Area closer to Jinwan District.

A unique coastal tourism landscape belt based on Zhuhai’s iconic tourist attraction Lovers Avenue begins to take shape in Xiangzhou District.

Old Xiangzhou villages such as Nanxi are being renovated to accommodate the a 9.8-sq-km (3.8-sq-mile) Sci-Tech Innovation Small Town, which is set to become a pioneer in sci-tech innovation for Zhuhai. [Photos courtesy WeChat account (ID: our0756)]
