The Zhuhai delegation had a strong presence at the 14th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industry Fair (ICIF) held in Shenzhen, Guangdong from May 10 to 14, with exhibitors bringing home one gold and one bronze medal in China Arts & Crafts Creation plus heavy investment for their new developments.
The awards were granted to gold-gilded artware celebrating the 40th anniversary of Reform & Opening-Up and an embroidery artwork depicting Zhuhai's achievements in the new era -- both developed by local souvenir enterprises. The delegation itself received awards for Outstanding Organization and Excellent Presentation.
Zhuhai's successful integration of culture and tourism was a major focus at this year's ICIF, the only national cultural trade fair in the country.

The Zhuhai Exhibition Pavilion attracts widespread attention.
Key cultural tourism projects and signature events in the city were promoted during the fair, such as the China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition, the China International Circus Festival, and the Zhuhai International Beach Music and Beishan Music Festival. The new landmark Zhuhai Opera House was also publicized.
According to the Zhuhai Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau, products such as crafts, daily necessities and characteristic agricultural products have been innovatively designed to further all-in-one tourism and display Zhuhai characteristics since 2014.
Currently, Zhuhai has four municipal-level cultural and creative industry parks and four special bases. They were all given extra exposure at a dedicated exhibition stall to attract investment for key projects.

The bureau signed an agreement to support Golden Jazz Cultural Industry Management’s pioneering attempt to integrate opera and jazz. The project has six works adapted from Qinqiang Opera of Shaanxi Province, three from Peking opera and three from Wu Opera from Zhejiang Province. Editing and composing were completed after a year of design, research and exploration. It is the only Zhuhai project included in the Ministry of Culture's 2018 key cultural and investment program under the Belt & Road Initiative.
The fair also led to good commercial results: Maker Station in Xiangzhou District will team up with Shenzhen Qianhai Global Hi-tech Venture to co-develop seed funding of 100 million yuan ($635 million), according to a signed agreement.
