The renewed Zhuhai's Sea & Sky Rest Station Park, boasting broad grassland, an extraordinary seascape and a coastal trestle walkway, officially opened to the public on May 1.

After overall upgrading last August, with the integration of North Lovers Avenue, the rest station park now covers an area of 28,200 square meters (7.4 acres), including three major sectors, the coastal sightseeing area, vast grassland and sparse forests.

Comprehensive facilities are amplified and provided at the park with a newly-added service station, a bookstore, a pavilion, sea-viewing stones, the coastal trestle, toilets and a parking lot. The coastal trestle is the first one in Zhuhai in any real sense.

Given the influence of typhoons, the chosen plants are mainly from wind-resistant species. Liang Yong, the manager assistant at Zhengfang Urban Construction Limited Company said, "The original arbor area has now been replaced by grassland."

In accordance with the "sponge city" design concept, permeable brick and concrete and grasslands are applied to the ground to ease water-logging in the city.
