Hongshan Citizens Arts Center opens

The Hongshan Citizens Arts Center opened in Xiangzhou District on April 21 as a venue for community activities and a home for art studios.

The center, located on No 163 Hongshan Road within the city sports center, was built on the site of the former Fisherman's Wharf restaurant. It covers an area of 3,306 sq m with an indoor floor space of 1,304 sq m and outdoor space of 3,005 sq m.

Divided into 14 functional areas, the center has comprehensive rehearsal and performance facilities which can also accommodate culture salons, poetry recitations, and creative activities for children. There is also a large space reserved for anyone who loves to play chess and cards.

An activity schedule was released at the opening ceremony to announce the upcoming highlights during April and May. Included are training on the fundamentals of law, lectures on folk music, and classes teaching ukulele skills.
