Zhuhai South Human Resources Service holds a job fair at Zhuhai Sports Center on March 11. Almost 4,500 jobs in different fields are up for grabs.

More than 14,300 job hunters attended a large-scale job fair held at the Zhuhai Sports Center in Xiangzhou District on March 11. Eighteen hundred of them gained on-the-spot preliminary work agreements.

The recruitment event is titled "Talent Zhuhai" and had been held 56 previous times. It is organized by Zhuhai South Human Resources Service.

Held outdoors, the job fair offered 4,478 jobs at some 500 companies, beating its own record. Job vacancies were available in such fields as manufacturing, machine instruments, and sales – the three domains currently in need of most workers.

Demand for service talents in hotels, restaurants, and the entertainment industry more than tripled. For example, Zhuhai Chimelong Investment & Development Co Ltd, a subsidiary of Guangdong Chimelong Group, provided 764 jobs -- the most offered by a single company at the event. The large demand came with the construction of the Chimelong Marine Science Museum and a navigation-themed high-end hotel; two upcoming additions to the Chimelong International Ocean Resort bound to draw bigger crowds.

Industry experts predict a growing demand for such workers as tourism advances are now high on Zhuhai's work agenda. This year's municipal government work report called for accelerated construction of a coastal international leisure tourist destination and a national demonstration zone exemplifying all-for-one tourism development.

A lot of talents with relevant work experience were recruited to serve the to-be-completed Hong Kong-Macao-Zhuhai Bridge (HZMB) as managers in real estate, transportation, business administration and port operations. The longest sea-span in the world has to ensure professional management and high quality maintenance for the future.

Zhuhai Da Heng Qin Investment and other State-owned companies also created a buzz at the job fair. Hengqin New Area has issued some favorable policies which greatly helped talent recruitment, according to company HR representative Zhong Lihong. Due to increased convenience in obtaining allowances and subsidies, as well as household permits, more highly skilled or educated talents are willing to settle in the area.
