With the upgraded cityscape of Xiangzhou adding to its festive atmosphere, the Zhuhai district attracted droves of visitors to admire flowers and cultural performances during the weeklong Spring Festival holiday.

"It is so easy to capture an extraordinary landscape photo as we are amid such a beautiful sea of colorful flowers," said a local resident who was on an outing with his family. Heavy crowds were scattered around Haibin Park and Jingshan Park and other scenic sites where combinations of colors filled nature's palette. In addition to those locations, 2 million galsang flowers are in full bloom at Xiangshan Mt Post Station Park.

Romantic winter seascapes were another big draw. Xianglu Bay and Haibin beaches and the Love Post Office have been reinvigorated with a new look in the wake of last year's typhoons. Upgraded street lighting on Lovers Avenue has made the iconic offshore city site even more captivating, especially at night.

The two beaches and other key monitored scenic spots across Xiangzhou received more than 250,000 tourists from Feb 15 to 21. The mural painting village, an emerging hotspot, delighted 25,000 art aficionados who looked for artistic inspiration through stunning light shows and original wall paintings.
