This year more cultural structures will be added to Xiangzhou's already existing repertoire. The Xiangwan and Meihua cultural stations will be unveiled before the end of 2018.

The announcement was made during a meeting held on Jan 9 at Xiangzhou's Lian'an arts center in Gongbei which also featured the construction process of the to-be-finished Zhuhai Civil Arts Center.

Long Guangyan, director of the Publicity Department of Zhuhai encouraged a survey of the cultural needs of the local residents, so that they can be met.

There are 32 arts centers under construction across the city, including two in Jinwan District, 11 in Doumen District, two in the Zhuhai National Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone (Tangjiawan), one in the Gaolan Port Economic Zone, and one in Hengqin New Area.

According to a three-year action planning released in 2015, a modern public system of culture will be established in Zhuhai by the end of the year, and this system will include comprehensive arts centers with integrated training, communications, exhibitions, and entertainment.

As part of Zhuhai's effort to enrich its residents through culture, the district of Xiangzhou has been constantly improving its cultural infrastructure and public services by providing locals with easier access. The construction and opening of the Shishan and Lian'an arts centers has benefited nearby residents with the numerous cultural events. A total of 11 civil arts centers are being built in the district.

Xiangzhou will keep an active role in shaping Zhuhai into a national public cultural service demonstration area, said a local official.
