A coastal leisure area encompassing ecological sights, education, fitness, and entertainment will come to pass in Doumen District by 2020.

Huangyang River Wetland Park will have a waterside viewing platform, Lotus Root Pavilion, river-view pergola, tidal deck, sightseeing footpath, waterfront deck, and riverside square.

Located on the mudflats along the embankment between the Jianfeng Bridge and Shengshichong section of Huangyang River, the 400,000-sq-m wetland park is to cost about 80 million yuan ($12.3 million).

Aquatic swamp cypress, reed marshes, and mangroves will be grown in the park, which is positioned to have provincial wetland status.
