The third edition of Shishan-sub district's calligraphy, painting and photography competition, which ended on Jan 7, was a fusion of technology and tradition, as visitors were able to experience certain artworks through a virtual reality (VR) medium.

The lucky visitors were also able to enjoy the city's scenery, social progression and cultural customs through 3D photos and paintings by scanning QR codes with their phones.

On the final day, hundreds of locals gathered to see the eighty-one artworks that were on display at the Shishan Civil Art Center in Zhuhai's Xiangzhou district. This was the final stage of a 6-month long event, that has had 600 locals participate in various activities and free training sessions.

A total of 84 finalists were honored at the competition's awards ceremony. One first prize, two runner ups and a three third place prizes were given out to photography and calligraphy contestants. Included were 12 hardworking youths from two ages groups (children and teens) who were also lauded for their painting excellence.
