Updated: 2017-12-18 Print

Zhuhai residents have been treated to a bite of more than 400 specialties from Russia and Heihe in Northeast China's Heilongjiang province since Dec 16, after a product exhibit was set up at Xingyuan market in Xiangzhou district.

Some 300 products from Russia traveled almost 3,000 kilometers for seven days and nights before arriving at the southern Chinese city of Zhuhai.

Delicacies from Heihe include blueberries, beans, grains and mineral water. The Russian specialties which include honey, candy, beer and chocolates are all produced according to European Union standards.

The product exhibition marks an important step for the targeted cooperation between Zhuhai-based Agricultural Investment Holdings Co and Heihe Chenxing Commercial Holdings Co. It represents a practical example of the national strategy of coordinated development between regions.

On Dec 7, both sides signed a framework agreement to promote and sell competitive agricultural products, after which the exhibition opened to Zhuhai residents.

It's reported that about 100 products from Heihe are still to arrive after being affected by heavy snowfall in Northeast China. Given the extreme difference in temperature of almost 50 C, fresh agricultural products from northernmost China will arrive via cold-chain transport.

Agricultural Investment Holdings Co will further deepen cooperation with Chenxing Commercial Holdings Co in the future, according to a spokesperson for the company. In doing so, Zhuhai residents are able to buy those products in 12 franchised stores and at 2,000 community shops.
