This year's "Enterprise Mobile Classroom", where Xiangzhou's small and medium sci-tech enterprises visit various businesses to learn new advanced design concepts and industrial upgrades, came to a close on Dec 1 in Shunde, Guangdong province.

More than 50 technology-based companies were led by the Science, Technology, Industry, Trade & Information Technology Bureau of Xianghou District to visit China Lesso Group Holdings Limited, a major industrial group of home building materials.

The enterprise achieved a record 17 billion yuan ($2.6 billion) in sales revenue last year, mostly thanks to its comprehensive product range which includes more than 10,000 specifications. Business executives toured the company's international R&D center, talent training base, and customer experience center, and understood the key to the upgrading of products.

Representatives then visited the Guangdong Industrial Design City (GIDC) to find inspirations from the largest industrial design base in the Chinese mainland. The unique operation mode of GIDC to provide industrial design of household appliances to manufacturers across the country combines government support, company positioning and market orientation. Products such as manicure machines, intelligent toothbrushes and self-adjustable noise-canceling headphones were displayed to exemplify the company's practices, stressing user experience.

So far, the Xiangzhou's brand campaign to help local firms has involved nearly 200 corporate executives who have gained better understandings of big data, intelligent manufacturing, and refined management through visits to competitive firms in and outside of Zhuhai.

The participants said they had benefited from the innovative business thinking patterns from famous companies which further enhanced the core competitiveness of their enterprises as well as scaled development.

The tour is an implementation of the city's innovation-driven development strategy and came in response to the need to upgrade Xiangzhou industries, said a local government official. This will contribute to building the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area into an innovation highland in future, he added.
