Xiangzhou holds careers fair at BITZH

The Zhuhai campus of the Beijing Institute of Technology (BITZH) hosted a careers fair for graduates on Nov 11, with 1,197 hiring agreements being signed on the day.

A total of 5,483 job posts for engineers, programmers, designers, legal counsels, and accountants were offered by more than 200 key local enterprises.

Altogether 6,400 people attended the fair to compete for positions with 1,197 winning hiring confirmations. Another 670 students reached hiring intention agreements with enterprises. A total of 69 Xiangzhou enterprises attended the fair with 1,700 jobs up for grabs.

A policy consulting service counter was also setup to provide attendees with information on skills training and employment policies. A student interviewee said that the fair helped him to learn more about the current employment market.

The fair was organized by the Human Recourses and Social Security Bureau of Xiangzhou District, the Xiangzhou Human Resources Center and the Student Career Development Association of BITZH.

The careers fair attracts around 6,400 students looking for employment.

The Xiangzhou Human Resources Center will organize for companies to attend similar fairs at Guangdong universities such as South China University of Technology and Guangdong University of Technology to recruit more skilled personnel.

Talent is the guarantee for the development driven by innovation and industrial upgrading, said an official from the center.
