The China-Latin America & Caribbean International Exposition will be held in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province from Nov 9 to 11, with cross-cultural communication to be launched as a key step to stimulate commercial intercourse.
The first-of-its-kind event has obtained state support to promote cross-border cooperation with a focus on economic and trade contacts.
The singing and dancing performances including samba and tango will be by major-league troupes from Brazil, Costa Rica, the Bahamas, Uruguay, Trinidad and Tobago, and will be accompanied by sweet steel drum melodies. They will take place from 2: 30 to 4: 00 pm on Nov 9 and 10, and from 10: 00 to 11: 30 am on Nov 10 and 11.
There will also be the China-LAC "Brilliant Night" Large Cultural Show at the Zhuhai Huafa & CPAA Grand Theatre on the opening day. First-class teams and artists will be invited from Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, and Chile.

Mexican Mariachi and novel presentations of ancient legends and celebrations will be spotlighted.
Also scheduled will be Chinese classic music played on the konghou (a harp like plucked instrument) and pipa (a traditional four-stringed instrument). Chinese lion and drum dancing featuring Lingnan characteristics will add movement to the music.
All these enchanting interludes will lend Chinese and Latin warmth to technology exchanges, negotiations and product displays and should encourage high-standard business cooperation.
A total of 524 enterprises are confirmed to attend the event including 339 from abroad. Twenty-four Latin American nations and regions will send 252 companies to interact with Chinese enterprises and 87 firms from 33 countries along the Belt & Road.
Participants already excited by the event had clinched 56 projects worth more than 3.2 billion yuan ($492.2 million) as of Oct 31, and they will be signed during the event.
Chief among the agreed projects are 12 covering printing supplies, modern logistics, petrochemicals, and home electric appliances.
The One Belt One Road & China-LAC Cultural Exchange International Academic Seminar will be part of the expo, as will a special ceremony celebrating the unveiling of the China-LAC Economic & Trade Cooperation Park.
The CLAC-Expo will include the main China-Latin America Economic & Trade Cooperation Forum alongside three parallel gatherings: the 2017 China-LAC International Service Trade (Outsourcing Cooperation) Innovation and Development Forum, the Congress of the Chinese Members of the Dialogue with Latin American & China-LAC Entrepreneurs Council, and a meeting of the China-LAC International Expo Investment & Trading Exchange.
