A total of 489 enterprises and 40,000 visitors have been confirmed to attend the first China-Latin America & Caribbean International Exposition to be staged from Nov 9 to 11 in Zhuhai, Guangdong.

Huang Jiayan, brand manager of ZTE Smart Auto Corp, a domestic bus manufacturing pioneer based in Jinwan District of Zhuhai, expressed his optimism before the big event.

"Here we will put on not only the new energy vehicles updates but also an array of high-end technologies such as wireless charging and monitoring system applied in car networking," Huang said.

Alongside the company will be 185 firms from within China exhibiting at the state-supported event. They include 65 enterprises from Hong Kong and 25 from Macao. A total of 303 overseas companies will also exhibit.

The first-of-its-kind exposition will be held at the International Convention & Exhibition Center in the Hengqin Free Trade Zone.

Centering on technology exchange, business talks, and product displays in services, investment, finance, and tourism, the event will serve as an international trade platform as well as display China's open economy.

Also scheduled are cooperation forums, business summits, a product trade fair, investment networking, and cultural exchanges.

Chief among the attendees will be Gree Electric Appliances, the world's major air conditioner supplier; Aviation Industry Corp of China (AVIC), a state-owned aerospace and defense company; and Sociedad Química y Minerva de Chile (SQM), a Chilean international chemical company.

The display area of 30,000 sq m will also be shared with 53 competitive international companies and institutions from Europe, Asia, Oceania, and Africa. Those businesses enjoying good trade ties with Latin America need a new platform to broaden their sales network, and they are invited to inspire domestic companies, according to an organizer.

Participants will be featured in dedicated zones: Latin America Specialty Exhibition Area, China-LAC Cooperation Exhibition Area, and one setup for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

"Deepened cooperation between China and Latin American states will bolster market demand especially in engineering and port machinery, energy equipment and other advanced equipment manufacturing," said Zhang Yong, secretary-general of Brazil research center. The organization is setup at the Institute of Latin American Studies under the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS).
