A 29-enterprise Zhuhai delegation attended the 37th HKTDC Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) from Oct 13 to 16 to further trade ties with Belt & Road countries.

Many of the exhibitors were manufacturers of electronics and household appliances, with 22 booths across 270-sq-m exhibition areas designated for displaying state-of-art technologies and the latest products at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC).

Twenty-one small and medium enterprises from Zhuhai participated in procurement discussions for the sale of electric toothbrushes, electric wine openers, security monitoring equipment and other digital consumer electronics.

By scanning QR codes, foreign buyers were able to place orders on companies' e-commerce platforms. Such a combination of online and offline purchasing models makes business easier and expands trade channels, said a company manager.

A special business networking event was also held by the Zhuhai Chamber of Commerce of Importers & Exporters during the exhibition. Guangdong Roule Electronics, Zhuhai Vigex International, and Zhuhai Kelitong Electronic struck deals with merchants from countries and regions along the Belt & Road such as Thailand and Iran, with many agreements still in negotiation.

The event was organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council concurrent with ElectronicAsia 2018.
