Zhuhai-based enterprises wowed participants with their latest technologies and products at the ongoing China Import and Export Fair held in Guangzhou on Oct 15, which is viewed as a barometer of the country's foreign trade.

A total of 182 Zhuhai enterprises are taking part in the fair, also known as the Canton Fair, including Chinese household appliance giant Gree Electric Appliances located in Zhuhai's Xiangzhou District, and Primy Kitchen & Bathroom Co. 

Innovation has become the buzzword of Zhuhai's products showcased at the fair.

Gree Electric Appliances put hundreds of products on display, covering household air conditioners, commercial air conditioners, kitchen household appliances, washing machines and mobile phones in 16 sections.

The company amazed buyers and visitors with its photovoltaic air conditioner – the product integrates photovoltaic power generation with air conditioning and can send surplus electricity back to the grid.

Gree has set a benchmark for Zhuhai enterprises to go global, exporting its products to more than 200 countries and regions across the globe so far, occupying 30 percent of the global air conditioner market.

Gree won the market by relying on its independent innovation, according to an employee at the Gree Electric Appliances. "During the first three quarters of this year, our company experienced good growth momentum in the overseas markets, recording export growth of 20 percent."

Other highlights of Zhuhai enterprises include innovative products from Primy Kitchen & Bathroom Co.

Primy has attached great importance to research and development and innovation in all links of the company's production line from design to manufacturing, whose industrial design center was recognized by Guangdong industrial design center in June this year.

With the Belt and Road Initiative advancing, Primy has seen larger exports to North European and North American markets and even set up branded stores in those countries. 

Products and technologies that are well branded, high-end, with customized design, green and low-carbon have become the trends of the 122nd Canton Fair, according to a spokesperson for the event.
