Xiangzhou's Chinese cooking contest ends

A Chinese style cooking competition held to discover the best chefs in Xiangzhou District in Southern Guangdong's Zhuhai opened its final round at the Holiday Resort Hotel on Sept 26.
Thirty-one eastern food chefs bettered 46 entries from 25 of the district's finest restaurants with a firm grasp of theory. In the final round participants were tasked to prepare chicken and assorted cold dishes as well as to present their self-created cuisine within 180 minutes.
Jiang Dongqiang from Zhuhai No 1 Secondary Vocational School claimed first prize. The second and third positions were taken by Lu Yongchang and Yang Youyao from the Holiday Resort Hotel. They were granted Zhuhai Skilled Technician certificates by the municipal Human Resources & Social Security Bureau. One-time awards were given to the top six finalists.
The contest was organized by Xiangzhou's Human Resources Center as part of this year's Craftsmen in Xiangzhou Competition that began on Aug 11.
