Young creative ideas given commercial test in Xiangzhou

The fourth China Mobile Cup Entrepreneurship Competition for College is underway in Xiangzhou District of Zhuhai. A shortlist of the semi-finalists was announced at the Xiangzhou Vocational Skill Training Base on Sept 19.

Preliminary examinations have screened 66 candidate teams, reducing the number to 30 who will vie for qualification for the final round.

The fourth China Mobile Cup Entrepreneurship Competition for College holds its semi-final in Xiangzhou District.

Participants include students at school and business operators within five years of graduating from Guangdong high schools.

Before the semi-final on Sept 29, entrants will attend sharing sessions to receive guidance on how to conduct a comprehensive business analysis and make a persuasive roadshow.

The top 10 finalists will receive further training from experts and famous entrepreneurs at professional venues, ready for the final round on Oct 27.

The winner will take home 50,000 yuan ($7,589) with second and third places awarded 30,000 yuan ($4,554) and 10,000 yuan ($1,518) respectively. Incentives will also be provided to team members who perform exceptionally well; each will be granted a certificate granting them access to favorable government policies.

A salon was held concurrently on Sept 19 discussing the correct attitudes the young startup leaders should adopt and explaining the latest trends that current innovative projects are based upon.

The competition is sponsored by the Human Recourses & Social Security Bureau and Human Resources Development Management Service Center. The International Business School of Jinan University and the Entrepreneurs Association of Zhuhai supports the event.

The contest is part of the district's wider campaign to attract and nurture young talents.
