China and Germany will continue nurturing new driving forces for growth through collaboration in intelligent manufacturing, robot development, and augmented reality (AR).
A series of cooperation projects signed in Zhuhai on Sept 13 were hailed as a strategic synergy between "Made in China 2025" and "German Industry 4.0". They include the 3D construction of a digital human body using depth camera, remote-control robots, AR technologies, front-end robotic vision systems, and a strategic partnership in intelligent manufacturing.

The significant outcome was achieved at the 2017 International Conference on Made in China 2025 & Artificial Intelligence which took place at the Holiday Resort Hotel in Xiangzhou District.
German and Chinese expert teams composed of many industry heavyweights gave academic sharing sessions and discussions themed on "Sino-Germany intelligent manufacturing creates a better future".
Keynote speeches from industry pioneers shed light on many of the latest development trends.

Li Deyi, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) and International Eurasian Academy of Sciences (AIEA) discussed the mass production of conditional automation-enabled vehicles. It is the Level 3 in the six-level standard system (from zero to five) developed by SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers). The automation level is capable of driving tasks and monitoring the environment to an assurance degree allowing eyes-off, though the human driver must be ready to take back control upon requests.
Also scheduled were AI exhibitions and B2B sessions for the networking of businesspeople in different sectors with the intention of applying these cutting-edged technologies.

Zhuhai National Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone sponsored the event with the support of the MIIT and Deutsche Energie-Agentur (dena), with Zhuhai 4D Age Technology Co Ltd and Zhuhai Hi-tech Construction Investment Co Ltd organizing it.
Hosting the event reflected Zhuhai's active role in enforcing national strategies, said a government official. The move will not only speed up the bilateral cooperation on AI and machinery manufacturing but also enhance the level of industrial technology in Zhuhai, especially intelligent manufacturing equipment, the official added.
