Zhuhai Titan New Power Electronics, a leading lithium battery manufacturer and solution supplier based in Xiangzhou District, has bounced back from destruction caused by recent typhoons and is regaining its footing in research and production.
Consecutive storms hit South China in August and September. Hato, the strongest typhoon to date this year, as well as typhoons Pakhar and Mawar, caused havoc throughout Zhuhai and other locations in Guangdong Province.
Like many enterprises in the city, Titan New Power Electronics has suffered a great property loss but is using a kind of start-up determination to repair and reconstruct its damaged facilities.

The company had rented a 3,000-sq-m temporary warehouse at Fifth Pingxi Road, and strengthened it to avoid disasters. However, it was still severely impaired by the storms which led to a loss of more than 8 million yuan ($1,225,624).
After the damage occurred, Titan, a tailored product provider, made an emergency change in raw material demands, requesting only enough supplies for daily production and R&D.
Developers have struggled to restore even a part of their research data, lost due to a sudden power failure, according to Ai Jing, deputy general manager of the administration department of Nanping Science & Technology Industrial Park, where Titan is located.
As of Sept 6, however, things were looking up. Seventy percent of production capacity has been regained.
The park's administrative committee and the local government are helping with further repairs and financial support, and in the meantime Titan is actively taking part in the city's recovery.
