Zhuhai to shine at intelligent equipment trade fair

Zhuhai, alongside seven other Guangdong cities and a Foshan district, will attend the 3rd Pearl River West Bank Advanced Equipment Manufacturing Investment & Trade Fair to be held in Foshan on Aug 28-30.

It is confirmed at a media conference held on Aug 14.

Foshan, Zhuhai, Zhongshan, Jiangmen, Yangjiang, Zhaoqing, and Shaoguan cities and Shunde District in Foshan will attend the event.

Yunfu in western Guangdong Province will also take part for the first time, creating an exhibition formation of "eight cities and a district."

The fair, which has been held twice since 2014, first in Zhuhai and then in Foshan, is committed to displaying the results of constructing an advanced equipment manufacturing industrial belt on the west bank of the Pearl River.

This year's event will welcome more than 2,000 guests and businesspeople from home and abroad, including representatives of more than 100 well-known overseas advanced equipment manufacturing enterprises and more than 300 domestic ones.

The organizers have arranged a 30,000 sq m exhibition area to be separated into display units based on administrative divisions. It will also be the venue for trade, a signing ceremony, networking events for patented projects, investment promotion and industry exchanges.

The fair will be a good platform to connect equipment manufacturing products, technology, talents, projects and capital resources, said an event spokesperson.

Having completed the design of its 3,248-sq-m exhibition hall, the Zhuhai delegation will bring a group of 41 local enterprises with more than 100 items to display, according to a government official.

Exhibits in smart manufacturing and developments in land, sea and air technologies will highlight the city's achievements in constructing an advanced manufacturing industrial belt over the past three years.

According to Vice-Mayor Lu Xiaofeng, Zhuhai new energy vehicle-related suppliers will also be spotlighted to showcase a complete industrial chain.

They will include automobile manufacturers such as Zhuhai Yinlong Energy Co Ltd and ZTE Smart Auto Corp. Zhuhai Enpower Electric Holding Co Ltd, engaged in developing electronic control systems, and LPR (Zhuhai) Auto Parts Ltd will also take part.

Zhuhai achieved growth of 25.1 percent in the first half of 2017, reporting 23.1 billion yuan ($3.5 billion) in added value in the equipment manufacturing industry. Meanwhile, value added in the machine tool-related manufacturing industry rocketed 74.8 percent to 4.5 billion yuan ($668.6 million).
