Xiangzhou sees steady growth in H1

Updated: 2017-08-11 Print

The Xiangzhou District has made steady economic progress in the first six months of 2017, according to the Zhuhai Municipal Statistics Bureau.

Located in the main urban area, the district has confronted a bottleneck in land resources, which however doesn't affect it much to take the lead in economic performance.

Its GDP reached 54.38 billion yuan in the first six month of this year, which is higher than the sum of the three districts behind it.

The total industrial output value of enterprises above designated size in Xiangzhou reached 77.5 billion yuan ($11.6 billion) in the first half of this year, up 14.4 percent year-on-year.

These figures put Xiangzhou in the first position in Zhuhai, as its output value exceeds the second-place, Gaolan Port, by more than 20 billion yuan.

The promotion conference for the real economy in Zhuhai held on July 28 saw Xiangzhou land 9 projects, each worth more than 500 million yuan.

As plan, the district will further optimize industrial structure, focus on high-end manufacturing industry and support local companies in the future, said an executive from Xiangzhou district government at the conference.
