Zhuhai Gree Electric Appliances and 13 other enterprises from the city have ranked in the 2017 Top 500 Guangdong Enterprises list, it was announced at a release conference held at Baiyun International Convention Center in Guangzhou on August 3.

At 14th in the list, Gree Electric Appliances is a world-leading Chinese appliance manufacturer based in Xiangzhou District. It engages in R&D, manufacturing, marketing and service. So far, it has developed three well-recognized brands, namely Gree, Tosot, and Kinghome, with a wide product range sold overseas.

Zhuhai's Huafa Group took 53rd place while Yinlong New Energy was the 137th in the list.

The Pearl River Delta accounted for the largest share of the list at 91 percent, thanks to such strong positions of Zhuhai companies.

Statistics show that sales revenue of the top 500 amounted to 9 trillion yuan ($1,339 billion) in 2017, an increase of 13.2 percent over the previous year with the net profit hitting 658.7 billion yuan ($98 billion), up 15.62 percent.

Analysts say there appears to be a steady upward trend in quality, efficiency and the size of Guangdong enterprises.

Also released were top 100 lists for the private sector, manufacturing, service and circulation industries.
