Shishan initiates public welfare activities

Shishan subdistrict launched a series of activities for public welfare on July 16 to respond to Xiangzhou District's efforts to improve the livelihoods of local residents and create self-governing communities.
The launch ceremony was held at the subdistrict's public art center, with residents, officials from the government and representatives from local NGOs attending.

The local government has made efforts to cooperate with 73 public organizations to help improve the livelihoods of people in need, especially teenagers, the elderly, the disabled and single mothers. In the past year, the government invested more than 2.3 million yuan ($338,110) in some 40 projects.
To provide better public services, they also organized 126 sports and cultural activities. So far, more than 10,000 people have been reported to benefit from the activities.
As Xiangzhou District is applying to become a national pilot area for community governance and service innovation, Shishan subdistrict will continue to create its local public welfare brands and solve the local issues effectively.
