Gongbei Port in Zhuhai's Xiangzhou District has witnessed great improvements in terms of public order, traffic, environment and services thanks to the local authority's comprehensive management over the past two years.
Since its establishment in September, 2014, the Comprehensive Management Office of Gongbei Port has made efforts to crack down on unlicensed cabs, illegal stalls and smuggling in the area.
As of April 2017, the office seized 1,452 unlicensed cabs and more than 30,000 illegally profitable motor vehicles. They have issued warnings to 2,200 mobile vendors occupying public space and helped more than 350 people in need.
Gongbei port is one of the country's busiest passenger land ports, receiving more than 100 million people entering and exiting Zhuhai each year. The daily flow of the working population in the area is over 500,000, causing challenges for the management.
The comprehensive office comprises a staff of more than 300, integrating the functions of law enforcement, traffic regulation and environment renovation.
The tasks and responsibilities for the nine departments are clear to protect public security, maintain public order, clean the environment, improve the landscape and provide better volunteer services.
The comprehensive office pledges to continue their efforts to build Gongbei Port into a better place and to provide better services for local residents and visitors.
