Xiangzhou District, Zhuhai

A symposium discussing ways to utilize Zhuhai's long history and culture to create industrial value and strengthen the city's influence was held on May 27.

Hosted by Jinan Univeristy in Xiangzhou District, the symposium attracted local experts, scholars, culture workers, entrepreneurs and student delegates.

The attendees discussed history of Xiangzhou's development which dates back to the Tang Dynasty (618-907), and other periods such as the Reform and Opening-up period in 1980s.

It was agreed that recalling the memory of the city can help develop culture today and enhance local character. 

Speeches will be included into a report that the government will use to help it formulate related policies.

Xiangzhou's federation of social science associations invited eight scholars to provide guidance in its study program on city culture as well as carry out such exchanges.

The event was sponsored by Publicity Department of the CPC Xiangzhou District Committee and Xiangzhou Federation of Social Science Associations.
