The five-day 13th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF) closed on May 15, with Zhuhai's exhibition securing nine project agreements and two weighty industry awards.

A Zhuhai delegation consisting of three sci-tech enterprises, five creative parks and three featured industry bases attended the only national-level cultural fair in China, and demonstrated the development of the city’s industry and innovative technologies.

It was the first time for Zhuhai to display a cultural gifts section, showcasing 17 companies producing items from crystal glass and bedside lamps to voice controlled lights and local delicacies.

Among them, Zhuhai Jinhui Gift & Souvenir won a gold medal at the China Arts and Crafts Cultural Creative Awards for its bronze badges featuring 64 countries along the Belt and Road. The souvenir uses a map as its background, crafted and painted with cloisonné enamel and gulch-gold.

Colored glass sculpture artwork from Alegant, a glassware and crystal products manufacturer depicted the beauty of peony flowers, and was given a silver award.

Most companies clinched cooperative agreements with enterprises, tourist attractions and government departments, at the event.

"Any cultural product of artistic value or hi-tech content, or both, must pass market examination before they finally become popular consumer goods in daily life,"said Wang Hengsheng, office director of the joint conference for Zhuhai's cultural industrial development.

Moreover, Zhuhai-owned Beishan World Music Festival attracted Hebei Craftsman Valley Tourism Development and Hebei DJD Tourist & Cultural Communication to sign a strategic partnership agreement with Beishan Lihe Cultural Industry Investment.

They will jointly invest 1.5 billion yuan ($217.3 million) in the China Craftsman Valley Music Town in Zhuhai and the DJD International Music Festival at Baoding of Hebei Province, hoping it will grow into the largest of its kind in China.

"The fair gave Zhuhai a platform to show its capacity to innovate and make breakthroughs," said Wang.
