Updated: 2017-05-15 Print

Zhuhai's Xiangzhou District held an exchange meeting on May 10 to help local companies with their applications to gain the high- and new-technology enterprise (HNTE) certificate.

Issued by the China's central government, the certificate is awarded to enterprises with a strong research and development capacity and that have acquired several self-developed intellectual property rights.

Registering as HNTEs has become a target for many companies, as the title can give them significant tax reductions and other preferential policy incentives.

The Xiangzhou district government invited four local services companies that have experience helping enterprises obtain the certificate, including Zhuhai Rongyue Technology Consulting and intellectual property consultants WTIOP, to share their advice at the meeting.

Third-party consulting firms have played important roles in helping companies navigate the HNTE application process, aiding them in understanding the application requirements and following the correct procedures.

Representatives from the government thanked the four companies for their contributions at the end of the meeting, and expressed the hope that they can continue serving more small- and medium-sized enterprises in the future.
