Zhuhai will lead a delegation of enterprises and industrial parks to showcase its emerging cultural brands at the 13th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF) to be held from May 11 to 15 in Shenzhen, Guangdong.

ICIF is the only national-level cultural fair in China dedicated to creating a trade platform for cultural industrial products and projects aimed at advancing globalization of Chinese cultural brands.

The fair, to be held at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center, will attract participants from home and abroad, especially those from countries along the Belt and Road including Egypt, Thailand and Malaysia.

Never missing any of 12 sessions, Zhuhai has kept expanding its team to demonstrate the combined development of its cultural industry and innovative technology as well as showcase its traditional folk arts.

The Zhuhai government has assembled 17 souvenir producers, three key sci-tech enterprises and three urban cultural service brands to attend the fair. What will be on display include audio devices, virtual displays using 3D digital modeling technology, and intelligent household products.

Five cultural and creative industrial parks and three featured industry bases will also have their own booths to showcase successful cultural brands they have cultivated to attract more projects.

Ye Weixuan, general manager of Zhuhai Kimka Creative Valley has attended the fair four times in the past.

"Our valley was transformed from old factories and has grown into a maker space to incubate quality cultural brands," Ye said. "We're looking forward to more opportunities at this year's event."

Decoration of all the Zhuhai-based exhibition stalls will integrate cultural landmarks such as the Zhuhai Grand Theatre, according to Li Jiangsheng, president of Zhuhai Cultural Industry Association. Visitors will also learn about Zhuhai's cultural heritage and traditional Chinese medicine via a series of activities.

Promoting Zhuhai's culture of innovation has been high on the government agenda in recent years.

The Zhuhai Cultural & Creative Industry Development Plan for the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-20) sets out to establish greater industry growth.

It also stipulates that by 2020, the value-added output of cultural and creative industries will account for over five percent of Zhuhai's GDP, yielding 15 billion yuan ($2.2 billion) with an average annual increase of 10 percent
