E Incubator, China's first incubator aimed at the electronic information industry opened a center in Zhuhai's Xiangzhou District on April 11, to cultivate leading sci-tech enterprises in the field.

E Incubator was established by the Sichuan-based University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESCT) in 2014, for the purpose of creating startups using internet technology.

With good management and operating results, the center became one of the first state-level incubators with national support by the end of 2015.

The new center in Zhuhai is dedicated to building a bridge for cooperation between famous institutes, financial institutions and sci-tech projects -- and has attracted 2.4 million yuan ($347,928) in seed funding.

Zhuhai Sandbox Network Technology, the first company growing from the incubator is focused on developing brain-boosting games and has completed round A financing, attracting 10 million yuan ($1.4 million).

Other ongoing projects involve online education and internet financial payments.

According to Wu Ke, one of the founders, the Zhuhai incubator has a goal to incubate more than 30 small- and medium-sized sci-tech enterprises (SMEs) and foster over 300 entrepreneurs in the next three years.

In addition, lectures, training, contests and forums will be held to generate word of mouth. The incubator will also lead startups to visit competitive enterprises to scout cooperation opportunities.

Xiangzhou currently has 10 such incubators, cultivating 14 sci-tech enterprises in 2016, and has helped form a whole industry chain for starting a new business.
