Zhuhai-based Pantum has recently developed its CP2500 printer series product. It is the first self-developed color laser printer in China.
Pantum, an international firm specializing in the development, manufacture and sales of laser printers and toner cartridges, birthed the new CP2500 series through building on advanced core technologies and self-developed patents established by Pantum, which helped the company release China's first self-developed laser printer in 2010.
With 800-MHz dual-core processors and 256 MB standard memory, the new line of printers produces faster results and saves 50 percent of sheets with automatic duplex printing. It also provides options for same speed printing in color or black-and- white at 23 ppm and 1200 x 1200 dpi resolutions. The products also feature 901-sheet feeders and print yield of 40,000 pages. Its optional encryption function can ensure document are confidential with password authentication.

The CP2500 series has obtained the China Compulsory Certificate (3C), a compulsory safety standard for products circulated in the Chinese market. It also has passed strict national authentication in terms of energy conservation, energy efficiency, and environmental qualification.
Launching simultaneously alongside the CP2500 includes Pantum's P4000 and P5000 series, capable of high-speed double-sided mute printing and NFC (near field communication) easy connection.
Such achievements are considered significant progress despite Pantum's short development history, attributed partly to the company's ambitions of being a leading global provider of printing solutions.
Zhuhai Seine Technology, Pantum's parent company, has helped complete the acquisition of US printer and imaging products manufacturer Lexmax last year. Subsequent technology and manufacturing methodologies acquired from Lexmax are expected to further the Pantum's competitiveness.
