Statistics published by Qunar.com, a famous Chinese-language online travel information provider, revealed that China's third and fourth-tier cities have become popular tourist destinations, with Zhuhai listed as one of the most welcomed.

Data showed that parent-child themed activities were favored by the majority of visitors around Zhuhai. JInwan District's Ocean Spring Resort's hot springs proved popular, combining toasty warm waters in an artistic environment. The district's Jinzhi Aloe Eco-park and the Zhuhai Agriculture Wonder in Xiangzhou attracted flocks of visitors and budding photographers. The Dongxing Eco-park in Doumen Village provided mellow mulberries ripe for picking.

Many travellers also came for blessings, family visits and countryside experiences via self-driving, DIY and short tours. A large number of visitors outside Zhuhai drove to scenic spots such as Yifeng Ecological Health Care Park. The number of one-day tour-takers also saw rapid growth. The New Yuanming Palace in urban Zhuhai welcomed almost 90,000 visitors alone during the three-day break.
