Business lectures in Zhuhai target e-commerce trends

A series of business lecture got underway at the Zhuhai Holiday Resort Hotel on March 20, discussing the latest trends in the internet and e-commerce.

Co-sponsored by Zhuhai Municipal Bureau of Commerce and the Xiangzhou District People's Government, the lectures have been held 13 times since 2015.

More than 300 officials and enterprise delegates attended the lecture, listening to and sharing ideas on industrial innovation, transitions to digital development, and new e-commerce operations.

At the event, Zhuhai Agriculture Investment Holdings signed a cooperative agreement with e-commerce giant JD.com, to build a trading platform. Fashion to Green, a food producer headquartered in Dongguan City, Guangdong Province signed a deal with JD.com to establish a B2B (Business to Business) shopping mall. 

Zhuhai has introduced several famous e-commerce projects such as an offline experience center in cooperation with Alibaba, DHgate.com.

Wang Ruisen, director of Zhuhai's commerce bureau said that the city's e-commerce industry has seen a rapid development in recent years, and hoped for further success.

"We hope this can be a new beginning for closer cooperative relationship and we look forward to exploring together new business modes," Wang said.

According to statistics, Zhuhai's e-commerce trade volume reached 90.3 billion yuan ($13 billion) in 2015, a year-on-year increase of 24 percent. This transaction volume for 2016 is expected to hit 100 billion yuan ($14.5 billion).
