Xiangzhou District, Zhuhai

The latest published list of "Guangdong Famous Brand Products" features 15 Xiangzhou entrants, bringing the district a total of 31 provincial-level famous brands.

The list, announced by the Guangdong Famous Brand Promotion Committee, gave acknowledgements to products forhigh quality and brand value, such as central air conditionersmade by Gree Electric Appliances.

Gree and other 11 Xiangzhou enterprises have earned a high reputation within Guangdong business circles, with their products a frequent appearance on the list in the industry and service categories.

Guangdong honored products in Xiangzhou account for 34 percent of those in Zhuhai, covering the household appliance, printing consumables and equipment manufacturingfields.

According to Xiangzhou District Administration for Industry and Commerce, the achievements are partly in thanks to a new system by which municipal and district departments carry out quality supervision responsibilities. Specific measures have also been introduced to guide and encourage the establishment of famous brands by providing a number of incentives and professional training. The government has also endeavored to create a clean and favorable economic environment by cracking down on counterfeit goods.
