Party secretary visits innovative enterprises

A delegation headed by Xiangzhou Party secretary Yan Haobo toured Zhuhai 4D Age Technology and Phomera Technologies on Feb 9, two young and innovative companies in the district.
Yan encouraged the firms, both founded by returned Chinese talents, to strive ahead and make more advancement in their respective fields.
Established in 2014 by Cui Yan and Zheng Kuan from Kaiserslautern University of Technology in Germany, 4D Age Technology specializes in 3D modeling and digital virtual displays.
The company is involved in a wide range of business areas from creating intelligent museums using nano-scale scanning technology, to 3D digital human body remodeling. It has an average annual income of nearly 20 million yuan ($2.9 million). 4D Age's partners include the Palace Museum in Beijing, Gree Electric Appliances Inc of Zhuhai, and e-commerce giant Alibaba.

The inspection comes on the back of 4D Age's first round financing, which resulted in a revaluation of the company at 400 million yuan ($58 million). Yan praised the company's achievements and encouraged it to become a leader for developing high-end emerging industries in the district.
Phomera Technologies, a fast developing high-tech startup, was founded in 2015 by a group of scientists from the University of Cambridge, in the UK. The company has developed a new material that uses optical film, which has a wide range of applications including being used in smart clothing and even bank notes.
So far, the company has cooperated with the University of Cambridge, sportswear manufacturer Nike, and other top-ranking research institutes.
After touring Phomera's facility, Yan expressed his desire for the company to continue innovating and making advancements in high-end technology.
