Eighty-four students from the Vocational Technical Secondary School of Chongyi County in Jiangxi Province began a six-month internship on Feb 6 at Zhuhai Seine Technology, one of the world's largest manufacturers of printer consumables.

Founded in 2006 and headquartered in Xiangzhou, Zhuhai Seine Technology focuses on manufacture of inkjet cartridges, toner cartridges and ribbons, with a business scope extending to R&D and sales. Owning nearly 300 self-developed patents, it is now one of the leading laser printing supplies manufacturers on the globe.

Students from Chongyi's Vocational Technical Secondary School majoring in digital information, model design and e-commerce were given an opportunity to apply what they have learned at school through on-site practice.

Organized by the Human Resources Center and the Human Resources and Social Security Bureau of Xiangzhou District, the cooperation agreement with the school was developed to solve seasonal labor shortages. 

Last November, after inspecting the company's operating conditions, employee benefits and working environment, the headmaster of the vocational school decided to open new classes to nurture talent for Seine Technology. Students are now recruited every spring and autumn.

According to officials, the return rate of employees to Xiangzhou enterprises after the Spring Festival holiday is generally satisfactory but still results in varied labor shortages. As for Seine Technology, 84% of its workers are currently back on duty. 

The school-enterprise cooperation system has transported more than 260 people to deal with the increasing demand for employees faced by Xiangzhou enterprises, but another 400 are still needed. 

Xiangzhou's human resources center will hold 10 job fairs to look for talent from inside and outside of Guangdong province hoping to promote the development of enterprises and schools.
